My company is "co-sourcing" and letting all the contractors go in the next
month. Then they will lay off employee's.
It's getting bad, where they give you menial work, not related to what you
were hired to do. If you don't like it quit.
They took a one stop shop (level 1-3) and turned it into a level 1 shop ,
paging app folks, creating tickets, admin work and monitoring. Now if you
are stuck here for a while you lose your skill set.
It turns my stomach just thinking about it. What can you do? Look for
another job. The job market is tough now. Sit there and try and learn as
much as possible on your own time.
What a kick in the nuts the last few years have been. Being a hot sh!t
knowing what I know to having to take on techie jobs that below where I was
just to pay the bills and feed the family losing my hard earned skill sets.
Now I am getting depressed.
Life stinks.
