Hi,
This thing surely is covered in VOL1 QoS section :) In short, the 3550 does
not have consistent behavior for the class-default. I personally never seen
it matching traffic correcly, but some people were assuring me it works in
some cases. Well, so far i would recommend using separate classes to match
L2/L3 traffic. If you need to limit the aggregate rate, just use the
aggregate policer. For the class-default in the 3560 you can match L2/L3
traffic, with some restrictions for per-VLAN policing (nested policy-map).
