I think you misunderstood me. I didn't say the right pitched the universal health care idea. I said that whenever
Democrats try to bring it up, they are always labeled as "socialists" by the right.
Doctors in U.S. are overpaid. Drugs are overpriced. U.S. hospitals are out of their minds putting a price on some of
the things that they do. A buddy of mine was offered a pillow and a blanket while staying overnight at a hospital
after his wife had a baby, only to find out later that Hospital charged Insurance Company near $500 for it. He is the
one who ended up paying for it, because his company's Heathcare Plan sucks
Taxing is thievery? No, as McCain would say, "my friends", Insurance companies and Hospitals are the thieves. You
don't have to tax anyone, just make those pillow and blanket cost $20 as they actually do. Make that pill of Tylenol
cost $1 instead of $50 (most hospitals charge that much). You feel the way you feel, probably because you've
never had to deal with unreasonable medical bills, and I'm glad for you.
We need to shut down insurance companies, create one system like NHS in U.K. and finally make the healthcare
system H-U-M-A-N and not a money-making machine
Profit?! Why should someone make profit for providing health to the people? Profit and Health don't mix
I get everything you are saying, and I completely agree with your way of thinking but as long as it doesn't apply to
healthcare
I of course don't want socialism as it was in Soviet Union. That type of socialism kills talent and ideas that make
societies prosper. But there's a different type of socialism that works much better in countries like Canada, UK,
France and Sweden.
