I think you will find that the RD doesn't need to be the same on every
router for "VRF A". The RD only gets tacked onto the front of the BGP
route to make it unique. What controls the importing and exporting of
routes is the RTs. It would seem that many do use a common RD for the
same VRF across many routers but you don't have to. Actually there may
be some advantage in using seperate RDs - see
