Hi Thameem,

This is an excellent opportunity for you to do some GNS labbing up.
Just set up the following topology:

R1 ----- RouterA --------- R2

Let R1 run RIP with RouterA and R2 run OSPF with RouterA.

Then put the config you are looking at, on RouterA and you'll have answered
any questions you have about this by yourself!
Also note that the example routerA is doing RIP ver 1 with auto summary
which you will not see in the lab exam! Also some times the language on
documentation CD is cryptic and might not be in a way that is readily
understandable. However, if you lab this up then you will learn the answer
by yourself and I think that way you'll remember it better.

For questions like this, I think it's best to do lab set up. If somebody
gives you answers directly, he is actually doing you a dis-service by it!

If you need help with GNS and router emulation, start here:

If you still have questions after labbing this up, please let us know and I
will go through this with you!

HTH!
