If you are weak on the CCNP-level subjects...

Do not forget about Chris Bryant and the BryantAdvantage from
Trainsignal.com

If I may say so, his material is geared at cutting any learning curve
between the CCNA and the CCIE via the CCNP.

His materials are hands-on and he covers the material with the assumption
one is headed down CCIE Lane.

Now - If there were going to really be a "Cisco 360" program...

Cisco must have forgotten about this guy.

His work reminds me of that of Mark Minasi from Windows Server NT4-2008...

He covers the gaps some others forget about.

Now he does lack labs to help one master everything. But his lectures are
complete and cover everything up to CCIE Nuances. So they might also be
great for real-world application.

If you need more labs... then allow me to point you towards the following
resources:

1. Narbik's Soup-to-Nuts, GAP, and CCIE Advanced Workbooks - Thousands of
pages of labs and solutions presented in mostly as few devices as possible.

2. IE's Volume I Workbooks - I must say when added to their famous CCIE
Class-on-Demand - This is a powerful package. If you need more practice,
then they still offer the Volume III Workbook - With another 10 Labs that
are each on par with and exceed (in my opinion) the lab presented by CCIE
360 Day-1 and the CCIE Accesssor Labs offered by Cisco.

3. NLI - The Golden Labs is product I used once upon a time and these were
probably the basis for other labs now presented by others. These are some
of the best examples of each technology presented. I think this may be the
single-most best value in terms of labs for the buck offered by any vendor.
A great product. These guys offer a complete solution too for study. Their
lab workbooks are sold in bite size 5 labs at time editions and for the
price - another great bargain - complete labs with tasks that are clearly
worded and clearly answered in EVERY LAB. No need to have lab 1 for the
solution in lab 30.

4. IPExpert - A product not recognized for the content that they provide.
Their are a few items in their "Proctor's Guide" that are quite unique and
interesting. The used to offfer free e-scenarios that were quite
interesting and had lost of tips and tricks built in. They offer complete
bundles.

5. Let's see... has anyone been to CCO lately... this is the biggest
treasure trove that is FREE and every CCIE candidate seems reluctant to
use... even when it is FREE and is provided in the CCIE Lab itself.

- FREE
- For some reason it pretty much covers the CCIE Lab Blueprint to an extent
not covered by any single vendor.
- Since one is currently allowed to see those pesky issues that CCIE
Scenarios are drawn from in the CCIE Lab and thier solutions - this little
bag of tricks... is the BOMB. AKA - The Examples and Technotes.

See almost all of us probably wanted a shortcut and we never even looked or
considered that Cisco might have offered us a shortcut right in front of our
very own eyes... a click away.

So...

Before you consider paying $4500 - $20,000.00 for a Cisco 360 program...
take a look at the the Cisco References first...

Then consider your options.

The 360 Program's Week-1 will likely consist of:

1 Days - a lab similar in content to the CCIE Accessor and review of the
same lab.
1 Days - QoS and Cat QoS
1 Days - Multicast/Switching
1 Days - BGP/IPV6/IP SLA
1 Day - Final day a graded lab

The Week 2 Program will likely consist of:

4 Graded Labs and maybe 2-4 hours coverage of each lab.

So...

If you need the basics and the CCNP to CCIE Gap... You gotta get it from
somewhere.

If you are on the cheap:

1. O-Reilly - Cisco Cookbook Second Edition.
2. Cisco Press - Frame Relay - Covers Frame Relay to the Nine's...
3. Cisco Press - LAN Switching - Sounds out of date but everything you will
need to know about Switching is in their.
4. Cisco Press - Switching Practical Studies - When you finish reference
number 3 - you might need more practice with switching, this one drives it
home.
5. Cisco Press - Building IP Resilient Networks - Yes - this one completes
your understanding of Switching and adds a few other items to the mix... IP
SLB, HSRP, etc. The discussion on how Spanning-Tree works is priceless by
itself.
6. Cisco Press - TCP/IP Vol I - IPv4 and IPv6 Coverage - This is what the
proctors have behind their desks.. wonder why? Summarization, Route-Maps,
Distribute-lists, Offset-lists, and even Subnetting... it's in there. All
those little issues that bite us and others try to drive home with thier own
labs... it is in there.
7. Cisco Press - TCP/IP Vol II - Yep... Doyle did it AGAIN... This time he
covered those "OTHER" topics... this is likely to be the book you will
receive at Cisco 360 Week 2 and with some very good reasons... BGP, IP
Multicast...etc. It's here... Again... Proctor's Delight.

8. Now... where do you go for ACLs? Well Richard Deal... penned a book by
Cisco Press called: Cisco Router Firewall Security. Yep... this is where
you learn all about those puppies.

9. QoS... Remember CCIE Vol II did a good job with this one, but you can get
a few good books from Cisco Press - Most notably End-to-End QoS, and Cisco
Catalyst QOS... and Wendell Odom's Cisco QOS Certification Guide - 2nd
Edition (The old DQOS and the first edition are great if you really are
strapped for cash).

10. Do NOT forget the following books:

- Cisco Press CCIE Written Certification Exam Guide 3rd Edition.
- Cisco Press CCIE Practical Studies Vol I and Vol II by Karl Solie - Trust
me... if you need to build your own lab - this is the FIRST book you will
need. It's a MUST-HAVE -speaking for Vol I.
- Do not forget Cisco Press Cisco Security Written Certification Exam
Guide... I know it says Security... but it says things... that are excellent
for CCIE RS. Remember the authors are CCIE RS too.

11. Cisco Press - CCIE Troubleshooting IP Routing Protocols - Remember the
CCIE Lab is a "Troubleshooting Exam" and there is a lot of stuff in this
book.

If you are considering Cisco 360 Week two... you OWE it to yourself... to
consider these "CHEAPIES":

- Cisco Press - Practical Studies Vol I and Vol II. Yes there are topics no
longer in the lab and then there are a lot of topics that are still in the
LAB.

- Cisco Press - Labs... They made two of these and while you are at it...
get the Cisco Press Security Labs Books too. If not it is totally on
you.... I told you so.

There are other books....

But if you use these with CCO and the CLI at your fingertips... you might
be pleasantly surprised at how much is "In THERE".

Good Luck to All...
