Hey Reis,
First, congrats and hats off! Second, no, there is no single source for the
SP written; you really do have to read all of that stuff (and likely more).
It's one of the biggest impediments to pursuing the SP track, IMHO. But at
Networkers this past June Cisco hinted at upcoming changes according to
respected blogs, so don't hold your breath for Cisco Press to come in and
invest in a book project just yet (if ever).
I have read pretty much all but a few of the recommended texts and now that
I've basically finished, I can't recall what I read at the beginning. Thus,
I've elected to press ahead with some lab prep work without clearing the
written. There's great mental satisfaction in getting that out of the way
and I find it motivating to set a lab date and march towards it. But I just
don't feel as though I can string together all of the right knowledge just
from reading these books. It all makes perfect sense as I'm working through
it, but there's a lot to be retained. So I'm hopeful that the hands-on
practice will anchor some of the theoretical stuff and then I can just
breeze through the written. Well, that's the theory anyway...
Best luck and congrats again,
Scott
