Anthony,
You paid 6k to come to the 12 day bootcamp in June knowing that you did
not meet the prerequisites as you yourself stated below. Everyone who
signs up for our 12 day bootcamp gets the self-paced E2E free of charge so
that they do not end up coming to the bootcamp unprepared as you stated
you did.

Since you knew that you were not ready for the June 12 day bootcamp when
you signed up around April, you also reserved a seat in the November 12
day bootcamp under our investment protection program. Although this is
unusual (sign up for the reseat before attending the first bootcamp) we
allowed it. By paying only 6k it means you got all of the R&S self-paced
material (same as in the self-paced E2E), 24 days worth of class and rack
time for just 6k. If you subtract out the list price of the self-paced
materials and the 24 days worth of rack time you essentially got the 24
days of class free. But since you came not meeting the prerequisites it
does not matter what the cost because you were not going to be able to get
much out of it. In fact you spent your time in the bootcamp doing the R&S
Vol I labs or watching the IEATC-RS CoD since you were not ready for the
bootcamp scenarios.

When you come to a bootcamp not meeting the prerequisites or needing to
learn X but the bootcamp is teaching Y, you of course are not going to
leave happy. A good analogy for not meeting the prerequisites and
attending a class would be when I was in college. My first semester in
college after serving in the military for a few years I was scheduled to
take "Calculus I". At the same time I wanted to take "Physics with
Calculus" which was not a good idea since I had been out of school for a
few years and had not taken "Calculus I", the math prerequisite yet. The
normal progression is to take "Calculus I" and then "Physics with
Calculus" the following semester. In order to get into the "Physics with
Calculus" class without meeting the prerequisite I needed to get a waiver
from the head of the Physics Department. Not only did I get a waiver to
get into the Physics class without meeting the prerequisite, I talked my
way into getting accepted into the honors version of the "Physics with
Calculus" course. So there I was taking "Calculus I" while at the same
time taking "Honors Physics with Calculus". Needless the say I had
created a nightmare for myself and ended up having to drop the Physics
class as you did when you left the 12 day bootcamp after the first week.
You cannot imagine how much I thoroughly enjoyed just taking the standard
version of the "Physics with Calculus" class the next semester after I had
completed "Calculus I".

The point is that you needed to either have attended the bootcamp you are
in now or have worked through the self-paced material we gave you before
attending our 12 day bootcamp. Also just because they are both
"bootcamps" it does not mean they are targeted towards the same level of
candidate. As Brian McGahan pointed out the 12 day bootcamp targets
people who are looking for that last 20% to 30% of their preparation and
not the first 70% (IEATC-RS CoD, Vol I and first 5 Vol II labs).

We of course hope to see you in the Nov 12 day bootcamp you are signed up
for but if you come I will ask one thing. Do not laugh at any more of
Petr's jokes about me as it just encourages him ;-)

Good Luck!

Subject:Narbik coolaid

Well I wanted to send this email out to the guys starting out. If you are
wondering what boot camp to take. First off let me say I in no way received
or profited from this email in anyway. I read a lot of posts regarding
Narbik`s bootcamps and how great they were. At the same time a lot of people
said it was Narbik posting them. I am a real person and some of you know me.
I went to an IE camp in June for two weeks. I was very unsure of myself at
the time. I thought the first 5 days of the class was pretty bad. I did not
say much because I felt like I had not studied hard enough to say so. I
thought I would just re take the class and that would fix things. Well I
also signed up for Narbiks class at the same time I signed up for IE. It
looked like the winning combination at the time. I am currently in Narbiks
class. Three days into this class I realized why people love his class so
much. It seems like just before I get ready to ask a question he answers it.
The lectures are the best lectures I have ever heard for Cisco. I can go on
and on saying the same things everyone else has said because they are true.
So please dont refiance everything you own(like me). If you want to learn
the technologies this is the place to do it. I have never said anything
before because I did not know what I was missing out on. I wont go into
details about the IE class or Bag on them. I just dont think the first five
days of the class were worth it. If you are going to spend your money buy
something worth it. I took the 9 grand class because I thought shit it cost
more so it has to be better than a 2 grand class. Boy was I wrong!! I am not
saying the 12 days was worth less (just the first 5 days)but it was not
worth the price. So if you are researching a bootcamp this is the one I
suggest. I know I will get a lot of heat over this. I usually dont like
confrontation. I felt I should say my experience. No one twisted my arm or
bribed me. Others may disagree just my feelings. You can hate me ban me do
whatever. This is just my opinion.
