AW: virtual-template ping

I don't know your underlaying topology or the requirements of the task, but
as far as I know, you cannot ping your IP with a virtual template. I
normally use a multilink interface in such a scenario:

interface multilink 1
 ip address 18.18.35.3
!
interface virtual-template 1
 ppp multilink group 1

With this config, you can ping the address

I am wondering if I can ping the virtual-template interface. R3<=>R5

I can ping other interface fine but not the interface on the router.
from R3
ping 18.18.35.2
success!!!!!

from R5
ping 18.18.35.1
success!!!!

from R3
ping 18.18.35.1
no success

from R5
ping 18.18.35.2
no success

int virtual-template 1
ip add 18.18.35.1 255.255.255.0

int virtual-tempate 1
ip add 18.18.35.2 255.255.255.0

is there any way i can configure to ping it?
