Hi Ovais,

Workbooks are designed to make lab preparation easier, after all the
more information candidates have the easier it will be. Similarly if
someone replies to tell you how, based on their personal experience of
the lab, they recommend that you prepare, then your own chances of
passing may well be increased.

You should be very careful about asking advice from past candidates, as
such an approach could easily be understood differently from the way you
intend it. I would avoid doing so unless you are enquiring about
specific non technical aspects of the lab, e.g. do they supply coffee
etc. It is debateable whether seeking advice from people who have
already sat the lab will make your attempt any harder (or indeed easier)
than your going through various lab scenarios from a workbook. If you
want to prove you can do it without assistance, then stick with the
blueprint, books, your lab and RFCs.

I think I understand where you are coming from with this, as there are
rumours about NDA violations in some material. In reality I think the
main workbooks are honest attempts at providing good study material for
candidates to improve their understanding. They take time to go through
but you will almost certainly improve your skills by doing so. I
started out thinking I would save some money and just study using the
blueprint/doc cd, but in reality it is difficult to know where to stop
based on those alone. The doc cd is designed to be reference material,
not a study guide.

Paul.
