My disclaimer is that I am not a wireless expert, but we do use both
Cisco and Linksys. Some linksys models, like the WAP2000 support WPA2
enterprise for security which is rare in a low cost AP. We haven't
tested all models of the linksys, but in general we do find that the
range is a lot lower in than the Cisco AP's. Therefore we run Cisco in
big offices 100+ users and linksys in the smaller ones. The linksys
model we use, however, does not support multiple vlans like the Cisco
one does, which can be usefull if you want to provide a guest hotspot.
