I can't speak about video, but in Financial firms (which I work with), most
is not all market data uses multicast as the transport. If your getting
market data from SFTI or Nasdaq or NYSE, its likely going to be over
multicast to your firm.
So short answer, yes, its used extensively expecially in financial firms.
