One bsr is sufficient, but you want to use a couple for redundancy/load balancing purposes.

Hi Group,

Question regarding BSR. If I have a network with a couple of c-RP's, do i
have to configure every c-RP also as a c-BSR? I was thinking that It
perfectly runs if I have only one c-BSR but after reading the DocCD which
says: "perform tis step (ip pim bsr-candidate) on the RP and BSR
routers"

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipmulti/configuration/guide/imc_basic_cf
g_ps6350_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html#wp1054362

Is there are reason to do that? After my experience in labbing it up it
works just fine with one c-BSR...but maybe I forgot something....

thanks

Roger
