Yes. You are right.

Initially I defined 8-9 aliases in all my initial-configs.

Finally I reduced to using only one: 'alias exec s sh ip int brie | e una'
which is useful for entering network commands in ospf and eigrp doing just
R1(config-router)#do s

So, all other aliases become redundant once we feel comfortable with speed.
This is my experience.

Expecting a comment on lawfulness of using alias in Labs.
