Gaurav,

It works fine on my equipment, what ver of ios are you running? Also are
there any more QOS configs which would come into play?? This problem usually
comes into play when you are using bandwidth in the policy map but shaping
should work fine...

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
Rack1R1(config)#policy-map R2
Rack1R1(config-pmap)#class class-default
Rack1R1(config-pmap-c)#shape average 1000000
Rack1R1(config-pmap-c)#!
Rack1R1(config-pmap-c)#
Rack1R1(config-pmap-c)#int e0/0.1
Rack1R1(config-subif)#encap
Rack1R1(config-subif)#encapsulation dot
Rack1R1(config-subif)#encapsulation dot1Q 100
Rack1R1(config-subif)#servi
Rack1R1(config-subif)#service-policy out R2
Rack1R1(config-subif)#
Rack1R1(config-subif)#
Rack1R1(config-subif)#do show ver | in IOS
Cisco IOS Software, 3600 Software (C3640-JK9O3S-M), Version 12.3(14)T7,
RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)
Rack1R1(config-subif)#
