Both Paul Borghese and I are pilots. I've got my instrument rating and
I'm looking at a turbo prop (right now I fly a cirrus sr22). Paul flies
a Cessna 172 or 182 (cant remember which). I'm looking at a turbo prop
these days.
Getting a pilot's license is relatively easy. It took two and a half
months. Not too difficult. The hard part is when you're flying in IMC
and get hit by lightning and keeping your cool. That is DEFINTELY more
stressful than taking a CCIE lab exam!!! I'd rather take 10 CCIE lab
exams sitting on sharp knives with Ben, Cathe, and Morrilo throwing
rotten apples at me than get hit by lightning in a small airplane at
10,000 ft MSL 3,000 ft AGL, IMC and picking up light rhyme!!!
CCIE and Pilot's license are very different. Being a pilot really
requires a lot of responsibility - especially when there are other
people in the plane with you and you are responsible for their lives
too. If your plane goes down and crashes it's going to be a bit more
painful than if your router goes down and crashes!
Getting a CCIE is harder (IMHO) than getting a pilot's license. However
keeping your CCIE is much easier than keeping your pilot skills sharp.

Subject: OT: plane pilot vs CCIE
Studing all 4 ccie's (RS/Voice/SEcurity/SP) vs learning how to fly the
plane
Does any body on this list have done both - e.g. has flown the
commercials/private jet/plane and also done CCIE?
Which one is harder?
[I know you can't compare apple to orange but just an idea and just
being
curious]
