OSPF LSA Resend Time

If anyone has any ideas please clarify the differences between the following
commands:

router ospf 1
* timers pacing retransmission xx*

int fx/x
* ip ospf retransmit-interval xx*

If i understand it correctly, the "ip ospf retransmit-interval xx" command
specifies the time to wait before the router re-sends an LSA transmission
that was not acknowledged and the "timers pacing retransmission xx" command
specifies the LSA advertisement rate (not necessarily the retransmission
rate).

Does that statement sound correct? It seems as though if this was the case
then it would seem more appropriate to call "timers pacing retransmission
xx" something more like "timers pacing update xx" or something. The DoC CD
doesn't seem to clearly differentiate the differences between the two
features all that well.

Thanks,
Jason
