how is it different in a topology with P router in between and without P
router in between affect the behaviour of the PE routers ?

Usually you see the peering of the VPN4 via loopback interfaces in such a
scenario. Is there a situation where you would not want to do it that way?
So you are also describing a topology with PE routers and no P routers?
