Folks ,
I have confusion regarding VPNv4 which maybe someone can clarify .
lets say i have two AS where R2 and R4 are the PEs connecting the providers
together and R2-R4 are peering IPV4 and VPN4 from their direct interface IP
address
R2 is peering VPNv4 with R4 to exchange teh customer prefixes from both sides
..i have two points to confirm if possible
1- if R2 and R4 are peering the VPNv4 from their loopbacks instead of direct
interface , in this case I advertise the loopbacks via IPV4 and send-label via
IPV4 BGP , however the label does not pop up automatically in the LFIB (
redistribution into IGP is needed) , however the LSP is complete between R2
and R4 because customer can ping each other ...can anyone explain why ? does
it have anything to do with that R2 and R4 are actually on direct link ?
2- in this specific situation where R2 and R4 are on directly connected
network , i noticed that the VPN prefixes are actually installed on the mpls
forwarding ..while in other situation ( if the peering router is not directly
connected ) thos prefixes do not pop up in the mpls ...is this correct?
