Hi All ,

I am having problem in using "distance " in OSPF . PLease see my scenario :

From ospf database
**************************

Summary Net Link States (Area 1)

Link ID ADV Router Age Seq# Checksum
139.1.2.0 150.1.2.2 879 0x80000002 0x00EB25

139.1.6.0 150.1.1.1 1065 0x80000002 0x007489 <=====
139.1.6.0 150.1.2.2 1129 0x80000002 0x004C7F <=====

139.1.7.0 150.1.1.1 1065 0x80000002 0x006993 <======
139.1.7.0 150.1.2.2 1129 0x80000002 0x004189 <======

139.1.11.0 150.1.1.1 812 0x80000002 0x009574

Routing table
*****************
These are reached via R2 (150.1.2.2)

O IA 139.1.6.0 [110/130] via 139.1.25.2, 00:04:36, Serial0/0/0.25
O IA 139.1.7.0 [110/130] via 139.1.25.2, 00:04:36, Serial0/0/0.25

Task : 139.1.6.0 and 139.1.7.0 to be preferred via R1 (150.1.1.1)
*******

I did :

Standard IP access list THROUGH-R1
    10 permit 139.1.6.0
    20 permit 139.1.7.0

Rack1R5(config-router)#do sh run | inc distance
 distance 109 150.1.1.1 0.0.0.0 THROUGH-R1

Routing Table (still the same )
****************
O IA 139.1.6.0 [110/130] via 139.1.25.2, 00:00:03, Serial0/0/0.25
O IA 139.1.7.0 [110/130] via 139.1.25.2, 00:00:03, Serial0/0/0.25

PLease let me know what am I missing . What I know is that in case of
OSPF distance command we need to go into ospf database and see the
advertising router and accordingly use the distance command .

Thnx
Gaurav Madan.
