Cisco is going through the cost cutting period. No software upgrade in
any lab location is planned for at least 5 years ;-) So you'd better be
prepared for the worst.
I think you should practice with 10 windows active, but only keep few
windows open. You can use Cascard Windows, Tile Windows Horizontally,
Vertically features to arrange the windows to fit comfortablly in the
monitor.
I do not like to use reverse telnet as you can not see messages popped
up for hidden sessions. You theorically can (using log buffer, and show
log), but it takes time. Also if I want to copy & paste to multiple
routers using Reverse Telnet, I have to wait for the config to be loaded
fully on one router, before going to the next. With 10 windows open, I
can copy & paste to all of them at the same time, much quicker! We might
be able to "send *" from the access server, but no one guarantee that
feature is availble in the lab.
If anyone have a better tips for using reverse telnet to save time, pls
let me know. It has the convenience of using keyboard only, but its
disadvantages seem more dominant.
