GRE tunnels, if properly designed will work fine. Take some time and
understand WHY you were getting recursive routing and that may help answer
your question there.

What route caused the recursion? (debug ip routing may help)

Subject: OSPF Partitioned Backbone

Hi, Is virtual-link the only way to resolve a OSPF Partitioned Backbone ?

I tried using GRE tunnels, but it kept on shuting down the tunnel because of
recursive routing.

Thanks, Thomas
