How can learning a trade be a waste of time? If security is your preferred
area of focus then why not go for it? I think most of us feel that R&S is
the foundation for the other tracks but certainly not required. If you get
a CCIE in the security track then it's still a CCIE and commands respect in
the job market.

Subject: CCIE security who so few ?

Just passed CCIE security written & wondering why there are only 1000 or so
CCIE securities out there. This track has been out at least 10 years. It's

not like voice track which has only been out 2 or 3 years. R&S is like
15,000 now. Is there no demand for people w/CCIE security ? Should I do a
different track ? I don't want to waste my time..
