Then it may depend on platforms. I tested the sparse mode interfaces / no RP
configured / "ip pim dm-fallback" enabled by default combo: no traffic
flowed on a Cat 6500 network running the latest code (12.2.33 SXH). Once the
interfaces were changed to sparse-dense, the streamed video played fine.
