You don't want to enable sync if every router is running bgp - period. No
need.
You can just "peer over" the middle as, and choose points to run ebgp with
that middle as. IBGP neighbors do not need to be directly connected.
I'm sure others will offer you some confederation solutions to this...
Others will proffer the local-as menagerie of commands.
