Alex,

Question ... If you perform a "sh sdm prefer", how is you memory allocated on the switch in question?

Subject: single 3550 cant see community attribute

Hi,

Does anyone know of a IOS bug or non obvious configuration error on the 3560 that stops it showing communities using the show ip bgp "network"
or show ip bgp community "community" command?

The problem I had was when send-community was configured over my whole bgp domain and one switch wasn't seeing any community attributes.

After being unable to work out why this problem was occurring and after several reloads of all the switches, I shut down all unrelated bgp sessions and proved the attributes did get passed as below:-

==============Good-sw1==============bad-sw2==============good-sw3

Comm 200-> Comm 200 no comm
200? Comm 200

For all the difference it makes all switches were running the same IOS and all using ip bgp-community new-format.

I experienced this problem in a mock lab and have been unable to reproduce the issue in my own lab.

Just thought I would throw it out there in the off chance someone may have come across the problem.

Cheers

Alex
