Dear GS Friends,
I just want to know how can I make sure that a newly added device is not selected as a DR/BDR assuming that i do not have control on this device. In other words in a simple topology where for example I have 3 devices on broadcast network and I want one particular device to be DR always. I understand that we can configure 1: priority on preferred DR to 255 and 2: priority of 0 on others. But I guess this does not make sure that new added device can not be DR(providing new added device has priority of 255 and "clea ip ospf process" is done after adding this new device.)
Would configuring preferred DR with highest router id will ensure this? is this the right solution for this task?
