If you haven't already done so, start with reading Jeff Doyle's Volume 1
Routing TCP/IP. How you get on with that material will be a good assessment
of how much further you have to go in terms of config awareness and
theoretical grounding. Other books cover other subjects. Wendall Odom's book
works across all subjects.
