CCIE vs. PhD??? (was: How to Become a CCIE v2)

I am blessed enough to be one of those people with both (CCIEx2, one year away
from getting PhD from a big-ten top-20 university).

Factoring out other personal variables (e.g. family reason, financial reason),
*to me*, CCIE is like an intro class, undergrad is like CCNA, a master degree
is like CCNP and PhD is like CCIE.
NRF: I agree with you except the following: the tough part of getting a degree
from top school is NOT getting admitted. It is the long sleepless nights.

Comparing these two is like comparing apple and orange (but at least both are
fruits) I encourage everyone focus and continue their quest to CCIE. I hope
that my comment would not distract any of you and I apologize in advanced if
my comment offense anyone. These are purely my experience.
