I took two: a multicast class with Beau Williamson and a security class with
a couple of the Cisco corporate security team members presenting. Both of
these were pretty good and the security class being presented by real
security practitioners was actually very informative in a real-world kind of
way.
My gripes really were more centered around the shorter lectures during the
rest of the week. There were cancellations and changes to deal with, poor
descriptions of some of the lectures I segned up for and various logistics
problems. Worst of all, the convention center staff weren't coordinating
their refreshment catering with our scheduled breaks. Most of the time we
took a break and there was no coffee, drinks or snacks left. I hate runnign
out of coffee in the morning! ;-)
I had fun and all. With the techtorials the total cost my company paid was
around $3k so for that price I think the training aspect was a little weak.
I would have preferred a wider option of techtorials and had them offered
all week long. The short little 2-hour lectures didn't do much for me that
I can't get from CCO or my Cisco account team.

Which techtorial did you do?
Anyone want a networkers referral? :)

I went last year and if I had paid out of pocket I wouldn't have been happy.
I also did the $795 thing and it wasn't great either. If you're after a day
of trade shows and a huge networking experience then this is for you but if
you think you're going to get a bunch of awesome technical info from the
lectures then you're likely going to be disappointed.
The parties and entertainment though are second to none and I had a chance
to meet some of the listers and bigwigs (such as Scott Morris and Brude
Caslow) so it wasn't a complete waste. ;-)
YMMV - Rik

Ok damn fine I'm going. Sad thing is I don't have any company to go with so
if anyone would like a buddy for a day let me know!
Have any of you ever went to the pre Techtorial? are they worth the $795 or
waste of time?
I hear all there was a CCIE party but they don't do that anymore :(
