I also have a question when to configure a link-local address as well as a
normal one. I think I read it's good practice to configure them when using
frame-relay. It seems to work if they are included or not so not quite sure
what the purpose of them is. Can anyone tell me?
Michael.
This was posted some time ago in this group... If you cant find the archive
here goes:
Link local address and link-local mapping is used in frame-relay when you
are using a dynamic routing protocol for the multicast updates to work... I
mean it is not neccesary when you are using static routes, you can lab it if
you want.
