RE: Frame Relay Sub Interfaces

Hi Az,

IMHO there is no need to create sub-interfaces unless stated to do so. I think
the reason to go for sub-interface specially when it's point-to-point is to
not have to configure resolution from Layer3 to Layer2, so imagine they ask
you to not configure frame-map map ip x.x.x.x and also frame relay inverse-arp
is not permitted, so that would be a reason to go for a sub-interface. Or you
could have another variation where you have a hub and spoke frame-relay
topology where in OSPF the spokes should establish adjacency between each
other and you are not allowed to configure Layer3 to Layer2 resolution, so an
easy solution would be to configure ip ospf network point-to-multipoint type.

So unless there is a requirement or a restriction you should work with
different solutions and flavours.
