I meant
"plan to leave points"
Meaning, if you IGNORE your studies in one area, then chances are you have
ignored them a little too much in other critical areas! I hear it all the
time, "I'm not good at multicast, so I'll just get the points elsewhere"
That's the easiest points you'll ever get, IMHO!

You can't pass thing if you plan to leave points on the table. I can assure
you needed to plan on getting 100% perfect if you want to pass. I'm sure I
missed one or two questions, but the day I won (finally) I left thinking I
got a perfect score. I tested everything. I remembered to remove junk I put
in to verify stuff.
You need to read up on the security aspects and everything else. Remember
the math behind the CCIE (here it is again)...
95+% not 80% is passing.
How can I say that? Do the math. If you miss JUST 1 little thing in a
section, you LOSE ALL the points in that section. Let's say you miss say 8
little things in 8 DIFFERENT tasks, making them all WRONG and could easily
FAIL! Despite getting almost everything else perfect! What a waste!
You need 80% of the points... but you need 95+% the test correct to get
that.
By leaving any questions unanswered you increase the weight of your
solutions to those tasks even more.

Hello Group,
Just back from Brussels from my second try at R&S, this time I got close.
When I calculate the score I would got aroung 80 points buts it's always a
quess the calculation. So I did much better then my first try (65%).
I left the points in security this time, atleast I scored in all the
sections.
Now I have to find a new date fast and am also wondering about RTP instead
of
Brussels as a second option. How are the condiotions in RTP?
In Brussels the exam is in a separate room from the equipment so no noise or
cold. How is that in RTP and how are the hotels? Are they in walkeble
distance
of Cisco?
Between my first and second try I did more on weak points then on complete
labs. I also did 5 Mock Labs from IE and I must say they helped me alot. I
did
not very good on them between 60 and 70%, but it showed me I knew hoe to do
it
but failed in mistakes and typos etc.
Now I wanna try the Cisco accessor labs. Still have to focus on some weak
points. Tips are always welcom to finally nail the exam, I know I can do it.
