I have asked the same question when doing the IE labs. Sometimes the
wording of the question points to it and other times you just don't
know. However, after doing enough labs, my tendency is to use eui-64
for Ethernet interfaces and not with serial when the question does not
indicate.

This also brings up the question when to assign or use the auto
generated link local address? When setting up frame-relay maps, I would
use the auto generated link local address for the static maps, but the
IE lab solutions would often assign one.

Any ideas on when and when not to assign a link local address?

One would hope the questions are worded well enough where you can tell.
(yeh right!)

Subject: eui-64 in IPV6 address(When to use)

Hi all,

I have seen in various labs that when the task states to use the network
2001:11:22:33::/64 say on R1 the SG has shown using both as answers. I
can't
remember which one had the non eui-64. This is confusing. Taking the lab
shortly. Would this be a proctor type question I could ask?

*2001:11:22:33::/64 eui-64
2001:11:22:33::1/64**
*
My question is when nothing is specified which one should i use.

Any help to provide insight is most welcome.

Regards

Anshuk
