I don't know, I have found that I have had 100% reachability from most boxes
and 95% reachability from a couple, and investigating those few unreachable
IPs has uncovered major problems. That'd be tough to uncover without a ping
script.
With a few exceptions, secrecy is deeply incompatible with democracy and with
science.
