Dave,
You have some very basic questions. Generally, when posting to this forum
people post their research and their understanding, then ask for the others
in the group for help beyond that.
You might elecit more responses if you let the group know what you have
read. If you don't know where to start, you might start with the CCIE book
list: http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/ccie/rs/book_list.html. I have
read all of those except for the MPLS and Troubleshooting Remote Access
Networks, and all of your questions so far are answered in extreme detail in
those.
