I read the post earlier regarding this.

I would focus my time on trying to understand the topology and the
technologies enough that in case of supposed proctor doctoring, you
can quickly and efficiently fix it. I would take the opportunity to
fix this after lunch.. because of course you already have the core
done... you should be able to do a quick verify and move on.

With that said, if the proctor does touch the lab.. i'm sure he won't
be too happy your trying to see what he's doing. And i think an angry
proctor probably isn't a good thing.
