agreed ... however R/S and SP are similar and i would think a natural dual CCIE if there was one. Also the new CCDE is a natural fit to backup a R/S or SP CCIE I would think ... if you are on the Security track i would think CCIE Security and CCISP would be appropriate.

Personally on a work experience note ... i'm a few days away from my first CCIE lab attempt and have been in the industry for 12 years. I have about 9 years of fairly indepth ISP practical experience both in Ops and Engineering ... i wouldn't have wanted to attempt the lab before this time for fear I would simply be wasting my attempt.

IMHO

Subject: Multiple IEs

Why do so many people get their first IE, then immediately go for a
 second
(SP/VOICE/SECURITY)?

Is almost like they get the IE in say R/S and think .. thats it ..I
 know it
all now - I can move on to something else.

But it takes years to become a true 'EXPERT' in any field - so dont
  let the
certifications grandiose title fool ya!

Build on what you have learnt through exam study - become a true expert
 -
and you will be a man my son ..
