I can give you my two answers:

1) Because I wanted the SP (this is my background), but the R&S seemed
to me a better road to begin with. At the time when I started, I knew
nobody with the SP to ask how it is.
2) It's like reading a book. Some people read a book twice (or many
times), others read new books (and this enlarges their horizon).

P.S. Chasing a different vendor cert (but on the same subject) is like
learning to speak another language. Some people are fine with
English, while some others find useful to know French. After all,
good money come from rare combinations of skills.
