RE: Exam Blueprint - LAM

Hey Ethan,

Thanks for the link. My instinct here is that some marketing weenies are
behind that document title. In the first paragraph, note that they describe
LAM as a "...unique Cisco IOS feature...", which I believe to be true.
Mobile IP is a series of standards and I do not recall LAM ever having been
folded up into it (and I used to deploy mobile IP prior to DMVPN/NHRP
hitting the streets).

Either way, it's kind of a slick little solution that probably has not
enjoyed a production deployment in years, LOL (couldn't help but note the
Token Rings and the talk of the need for constant connectivity *becoming* a
reality). But I find it interesting and noteworthy that we are now up to
two vendor workbooks that cover it. I personally haven't committed the
details of its configuration to memory, but I'm glad to know the concept
exists and how I would use it to answer a task.

Thanks...

Cheers,

Scott

What started my post was this white paper entitled "Cisco IOS Mobile IP:
Cisco IOS Local-Area Mobility". Just by the title and the verbiage in
that white paper, my gut reaction was that LAM fell into the broader
category of Mobile IP, which Maurilio says isn't being tested. If LAM
and Mobile IP are distinct, I'm okay with that, but I'm not sure how to
separate the two.

LAM is covered by NetMasterClass.com in DOiT scenario 20, FWIW.
