Some lab locations the proctors cannot remote into the routers and reboot
(Our proctor told us this). They have to call up someone in San Jose and
have them do it. If it's the middle of the night in San Jose, your likely
getting an early trip home to cry into you pillow.
Not to be rude, but Dot1x/AAA geared towards the R/S lab isn't that
difficult. With all of the fear in this post, I can bet that anybody facing
this in the lab is going to know that screwing up on Dot1x can lock them out
of their rack, and... not screw up.. Just learn the tech, lab it up and
you'll have nothing to worry about. If I hadn't read up on Dot1x/AAA i'd
probably skip this in the lab. Good practice would be to set up your vty
passwords on the device, and console, then add Dot1x config, and make sure
your vty/console login behavior don't change.
