I've run into this a few times, but have never been able to explain it.
I've got (4) 3550s in my lab that are all running the same EMI
image(c3550-i5q3l2-mz.121-19.EA1c.bin). Every so often I find that I'm
not able to use the "ip routing" command---it's simply not there:
Rack1SW1(config)#ip rout
Rack1SW1(config)#ip rout
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
Rack1SW1(config)#ip routing
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
Rack1SW1(config)#ip
Rack1SW1(config)#ip ?
<!-----OUTPUT OMMITED-----!>
pim PIM global commands
prefix-list Build a prefix list
radius RADIUS configuration commands
rcmd Rcmd commands
reflexive-list Reflexive access list
sap Global IP Multicast SAP Commands
sdr Global IP Multicast SDR Commands
<!-----OUTPUT OMMITED-----!>
Rack1SW1(config)#ip
The only solution to this is to delete the following files from flash,
and reload the switch:
flash:env_vars
flash:system_env_vars
When the switch comes back up, I'm then able to use the "ip routing"
command(among others...).
Is this expected behavior?
