RE: dyanmips lab setup help needed: how to install 12 usb

I've just been playing around with things since it's gaining popularity.
Personally I still use real equipment... But the Mac worked wonderfully.
OS on mine is 10.4 OS/x. I haven't upgraded it to 10.5 yet, but will likely
do that soon.

It's nice, quiet and not that hot. :)

Scott,

Mac mini seems to ba popular weapon of choice, what is the performance like
on a fully loaded lab? ie BGP flaps etc? Also what OS do you run on them?
Sounds a lot better than the massive sever that generates more radiation
than chernoby I currently use.

Thanks

Graham

Li,

I would have to agree go buy three 4 port nics you'll be much happier in
the end. I've been using three that have worked flawless for the last
year.

Hey Li,

maybe your having a USB driver issue of some sort. I've used USB nics
without problem. I'm not much of a PC guy anymore, but I have noticed
different systems tank when you plug in a few USB devices in Windows.
Those NIO_GEN_eth ids change (long time ago, so not 100% sure) when you
pull the USB Nics off and add them back on, so that pissed me off and I
ended up buying 3
4 port NICs. If you get them, make sure you have a large ATX case. The
cards are long.
