Could you include some more of your configuration and debugs?
I tried a simple example without BGP and without filtering.
R1 -- R4---R5 -- R6
R4 and R5 are the peers
can send traffic from R1 to R6
Rack1R4#sh run | i msdp
ip msdp peer 155.1.45.5
ip msdp default-peer 155.1.45.5
Rack1R4#sh ip msdp summary
MSDP Peer Status Summary
Peer Address AS State Uptime/ Reset SA Peer Name
Downtime Count Count
*155.1.45.5 ? Up 00:03:52 1 0 ?
Rack1R4#
Rack1R5#sh run | i msdp
ip msdp peer 155.1.45.4
ip msdp default-peer 155.1.45.4
Rack1R5#sh ip msdp summary
MSDP Peer Status Summary
Peer Address AS State Uptime/ Reset SA Peer Name
Downtime Count Count
*155.1.45.4 ? Up 00:04:34 0 1 ?
Rack1R5#
