I think you'll find that the every vendor prefers
their workbook prefers to be paid for rather provide
support to people who just "got a copy" somewhere.
To me it seems that if vendor workbook questions were
restricted to just the vendor's own forum then the
pirating would become a rather useless pastime of many
people who do not plan to by anyway.
However, it seems vendors are very willing to help
people and do help people openly on this list and
elsewhere as well. I for one frequent many forums,
lists, online magazines, etc. and have found this to
be the case.
Now I think if someone took a workbook and did not pay
for it and started all their questions they might have
from that same workbook...
Hmmm....
But if you look on Groupstudy, and got out a red pen
an d a certain workbook or so... You might find a
given workbook or so almost completely documented on
Groupstudy with full vendor support.
Many people frown on vendors using Groupstudy as a
vendor support forum - for obvious reasons.
Myself, I bought the workbooks, COD/VOD, and most aids
and I use them and the solutions they provide and
sometimes take a road trip to the DOC CD.
I find a great many questions asked on GS are already
documented by going to a bootcamp by one of the
vendors or more of them, using their well-documented
products, Cisco Press, actually using CCO, or lastly
just asking on GS.
That's just my opinion of course and many people do
not seem to have the time or resources and this may be
the case too.
Some questions are perpetual here and always start a
frenzy.
Think about what you yourself have just asked. Pick
any given month on GS and your question would be
answered.
