Subject: Got my number in San Jose! :) :)
Hi,
I still can't believe it and still shaking with joy :-). The proctor at
San Jose told me that the results will come in on Monday as I wrote the
exam on Friday, but I checked my mail now and there it was... :-)
I started my CCIE quest last year and it's been a long journey. I had
all the support that I could ask for from my parents and my wife and
kids :-) It would have been impossible for me to achieve success without
their support.
I started off my preparations with Wendell Odom's Routing and Switching
guide and then read Jeff Doyale's both vol1 and 2. In June I bought IE
workbook Vol 1 and started to work on core topics. It really helped me
out clearing some doubts and in mastering the core topics individually.
After completing Vol 1 I purchased their COD and WB Vol 2. Initially the
full-scale labs overwhelmed me.. but as I kept working, It got better. I
completed all 20 labs and then repeated labs 7 - 11. Used a lot of rack
time from racktimerentals.
Finally just 15 days before my scheduled lab exam, I took both the Cisco
CCIE assessor labs and I must say that I would not have got success
today without those assessor labs. In the first lab while I knew how to
solve the questions, I just could not complete it on time. I just worked
on increasing my speed from that point on. Under normal cases I had 11.5
hours to complete
1 scenario, but the assessor lab made me realize that I wont have this
much time in the real thing.
I would like to thank God for answering my prayers.
I would like to thank Paul for maintaining this wonderful list and to
all participants of this list who encourage and help others clear their
doubts.
A special note of thanks to the Brian's for the excellent study material
and Scott Morris, Joseph Brunner, Tarun Pahuja, Scott Vermillon and all
others for taking time out and actively participating and helping others
in group-study.
Regards,
Ajay Prakash
