Guys,
I have a somewhat simple question that I am looking for opinion for. Let's
say we have two routers R1 and R2 running iBGP between them and both have a
static route for a network that they need to advertise to their other eBGP
peers. I wanted to have a floating static route on R2 with AD, let's say,
of 254 so that it prefers the same route learned via R1 from iBGP session
between them. But, I have noticed that R2 always prefers its static route,
no matter what AD is configured for it, and never uses the route learned via
iBGP from R1. I am thinking may be configuring BGP conditional
advertisement would solve the issue but I am looking for suggestions from
other folks to see what they do in a situation like this one. Looking
forward to your response(s). TIA.
Tony
