RE: Configure 2811 HWIC-4ESW PoE

Hey WorkerBee,

I know next to nothing about the Voice track, so I can't comment on how much
inline matters. My guess is very little. I have used the power injection
option in the real world with great success. Of course I prefer inline, but
sometimes it's just not warranted for a device or two.

Having said all that, the ISRs have been around long enough that I'm sure
there's a pretty good used market for those supplies. IIRC, installing them
is a snap. One or two screws and a cable connection or two...

Regards,

Scott

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I really don't have ILS in all my 03 x
2811 routers.

It seems like getting ILS + HWIC-4ESW-PoE is still more cost effective
than owning 03 x 3560-24-PoE or 03 x 3560-8-PoE switches. I am not
getting the Cat6k so I am using
another router as the branch/hq router.

Is it really worth the trouble to go all out to make ISR inline power
capable? Does the Voice lab really test so much on inline power
configuration? If not, I will probably get some power injector which
is more cost effective.
