RE: Lab Query

I don't think it has anything to do with raw intelligence at all. Those of
us who passed without workbooks are just "early adopters". :)

Aside from that though, it's all about process. And we were just required
to come up with our own processes in order to try to outsmart the CCIE lab.
Back in Brian's day, all he had to do was plug things in correctly and he
passed. (j/k) :)

In any event, I think the point is that there is no magic method as far as
"these labs" whether that be 4 labs, 8 labs or 42 of them. The number of
labs is simply exposure to different topics/concepts. The ones you do for
repetition and HOW you do them will make things stick.

Try writing your own "evil" lab. Even just a single one. The cool part is
that most people suck the first time at making a lab. By that, I mean they
have tendencies to create some technically impossible scenarios just because
it sounds cool while writing it! (Did I mention that the hard part is
actually solving your own lab?)

But the process of proving/disproving why things should or should not work
is really the important part. THAT is the part that will test your
knowledge and enforce the repetition.

Process, proceess, process.

Hi Brian,

I have been thinking about that. But I still don't get an acceptable answer
other than you and those like you who passed the lab without workbook are
more intelligent than most of us. Are you willing to give us 2 cents or
more.

Cheers,
Ed
