I was reading this link on Jumbo Frames and I didn't understand the note
about the VLAN MTU and Interface MTU. It sounds like the VLAN is
operational as long as the data is less than the MTU configured inside
the VLAN Data Base. Then it says you only need to set the MTU under the
interface. Wouldn't that make the VLAN "non-operational" when data was
received on an interface that exceeded the VLAN MTU? Also, I would hate
for a VLAN to go "non-operational" because it receive a large frame. I'm
lost is a logic loop, can anyone explain this?

"Note: There is no relationship between the MTU value that you can
specify in the VLAN database and the mtu command in the interface
configuration mode. With the VLAN database setting, the switch checks
for an MTU value greater than 1500. If the switch detects a higher
value, puts the VLAN in a non-operational state. Therefore, to support
large frames, you only need to change the interface MTU value and not
the VLAN database MTU value. Refer to the Configure Jumbo Frame Support
